To the residents of Carbon County:

I’ve known the Wernett family for my entire life. Their locally owned and family-run business is successful due to their hard work ethic and “get it done attitude.” Sydney is no exception to that. Her accomplishment and successes are attributed to her work ethic, learned from her family, which enables her to expand her skill set by taking on additional responsibilities. Coupled with her goals and experiences, all these attributes are all a perfect fit for the position of Carbon County Clerk of Court.

Sydney’s background as a Carbon County Deputy Sheriff, education and current employment with the Carbon County Prothonotary’s Office provides her with the experience to understand the technical demands of this position including:

• Preparing and issuing court orders from our judges

• Preparing and maintaining court docket sheets of cases

• Examining legal documents submitted to courts

• Searching files, containing and maintaining relationships with attorneys, witnesses, victims and litigants in order to obtain accurate information for the court

Sydney will be dedicated to this position as well as to our community. Sydney knows how to be a team player, but also knows when a leader is needed. The Clerk of Courts collects and disburses fines and court costs on behalf of the court. Sydney has the skills to provide a solid foundation for an organized, smoothly functioning office. She is not going to be afraid to take challenges head-on.

She has the experience in the courtroom by working with juries, members, interpreters, witnesses, victims and defendants by instructing them and their parties about the timing of court appearances. Sydney also has a great rapport with our court justices. All of this experience is vital in being successful to the position of Clerk of Courts.
