Andreas VFW

Andreas VFW Post 5069 will be holding a Veterans Day breakfast at the Mason Jar Restaurant on Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. Paid members and one guest are invited.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Oct. 21 with 24 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “The Great Provider.”

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 or older is invited to attend.

Veterans Day Parade

The Veterans Day Parade is on Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. The Tamaqua American Legion Post 173 will once again sponsor the parade and invite all veterans, businesses, fire companies, church groups, clubs and organizations to participate in the parade.

American Primitive

Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua.

There will be no Sunday school until further notice.

Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley.

Diaper Depot

The free diaper ministry at Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, is accepting new clients for their Nov. 20 distribution.

You must be a resident of the Tamaqua Area School District and make a request at www.ziontamaqua.com by Oct. 29. You will be given an appointment time for the Nov. 20 distribution. The first time you pick up diapers, you must present a birth certificate for the child/children and some type of proof of residence. Diaper Depot is a community pantry of the Great Philadelphia Diaper Bank.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are scheduled for 9:15 a.m. and evening praise service at 6:30 p.m.

“Happy” pumpkin carving and painting and fall fellowship will be held at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle on Oct. 30 at 2:30 p.m. Open to all ages.

Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on Oct. 26 with 51 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “God Will Be Your Friend.”

Guests Phyllis Bergman and Nancy O’Donnell were given a warm welcome. Halloween candy and pumpkin magnets were donated to the club along with paper products and a monetary gift. An elephant plant was donated by Cindy Godenis and won by Kim Usalis.

There will be a trip to Mohegan Sun Casino, Wilkes-Barre, on Nov. 10.

The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Christ Church, Barnesville, at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 or older is invited to attend.
