State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on area crashes:

• Alice C. Belfiore, 42, of Blakeslee, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:40 p.m. Oct. 14 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country van south when a large bear ran into the lane of travel. Police said the van struck the bear and continued south before coming to rest.

The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.

• Barbara T. Meadows, 68, of Kunkletown, was cited after a crash at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 4 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2017 Ram 1500 that was making a left turn onto Route 209 from the ESSA bank parking lot when it struck a 2003 Honda Element driven by Christopher J. Tanner, 29, of Blakeslee, that was eastbound at the time. After the initial impact, the Ram struck a 2007 Honda Toyota operated by Jacob N. O’Neill, 35, of Saylorsburg.

Police said the Ram and the Element both sustained “heavy crushing damages” and were towed from the scene. The Toyota was driven from the scene.

No one was hurt in the incident.

• Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:54 p.m. Oct. 22 on Route 715 in Jackson Township.

Police identified the injured parties as Matthew T. Parderlikes, 39, of Effort, the driver of one of the vehicles; Daraniece A. Adame, 46, of Flushing, New York, his passenger; Justin J. Johnson, 33, of Blakeslee, the second driver, and Lyndsay R. Kelly, 36, also of Blakeslee, his passenger.

Police said the extents of their injuries are unknown, although Parderlikes and Adame were not transported to an area medical facility while Johnson and Kelly were taken to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Bartonsville.

Police did not release the other details of the incident.

• Harold E. Sechrist, 61, of Roaring Branch, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 10:44 a.m. Oct. 18 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township, according to police.

Police said he was driving a 2012 Peterbuilt truck tractor eastbound when it left the right side of the road and entered a roadside ditch. The vehicle sustained front end and undercarriage damages.

Police said Sechrist was transported by Lehigh Ambulance personnel to the St. Luke’s Hospital - Lehighton campus.
