Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and then traditional service at 11 a.m.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m., join us for “Prayer & Praise.”

Every Sunday in October at 6 p.m. the Youth Group Impact will meet. It is open to all youth 12 years to 12th grade.

Every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. is a men’s Bible study group.

JUCC filling sale

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, is taking orders for their fall filling sale. This is the same filling that is enjoyed at the Palmerton Community Festival. May be purchased in 2-pound or 5-pound containers. Order deadline is Nov. 13. Pickup is either Nov. 20 from noon to 4 p.m. or Nov. 21 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is also an order form at Sunday services. Call the church office at 610-681-4412 or Beverly Waibel at 610-377-5811 for cost and to order.

Basket raffle

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville will hold their annual Basket Raffle and Bazaar on Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Will have baskets to be raffled, baked goods and holiday items. There will be food to eat in or take out including homemade soup, hot dogs, barbecue, halushki and beverages. The raffle drawing will be at 2 p.m.

Trunk or treat

Trunk or treat will be held on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., will provide all the treats. All you have to do is park on Third Street in front of the church and decorate your trunk. Then you can distribute treats to all the kids as they come by to check out your decorations. Prizes will be awarded for the best trunk decorations in various categories. Bring a folding chair.

Train Meet

The Carbon Model Railroad Society is sponsoring its Fall Train Meet on Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Diamond Fire Co. Bingo Hall, 120 Main St., Walnutport. This is a model railroad, toy train and railroadiania sale for the serious and amateur railroad and model train collector. Refreshments will be available and there is plenty of free parking. Admission. Bring your entire family and tell your friends. Masks are optional.

Thanksgiving filling sale

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville, is taking orders for its Thanksgiving filling sale. This is fresh made, not frozen. May be purchased in 2-pound or 5-pound containers. Orders are due by Nov. 7 and pickup is on Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For cost and to order, call 610-681-5200 or 610-681-5403.

Collect cans

The Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company, Little Gap Road, has a trailer at the company grounds to collect aluminum cans and crushed cans. All support is appreciated.

Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Trachsville is also collecting cans. They had a shed in their church grove. There are two slots. One for crushed cans and one for uncrushed cans. Donations are appreciated.

Aquashicola Fire

The Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Department, Little Gap Road, will be holding its annual Thanksgiving filling sale. Each 9-inch container serves four people and can be frozen for up to three months. Orders are due by Nov. 8. To order, call 610-826-2066 or see a fire company member. The filling will be available for curbside pickup in either Tuesday evening (preferred) Nov. 23 after 7 p.m. or Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship at 10:15 a.m. If you plan to attend in person, please call the church office at 610-826-2524. If you are unable to attend in person, you may also join on Zoom. Communion will be held.

“God on the Go” is the new look for virtual Sunday school for the children. Each week, join together on Holy Trinity’s Facebook page for a 15- to 20-minute message.

Bible study is held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Fall Bazaar

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold their Fall Bazaar Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come to discover craft items, jewelry, a lunch bag raffle, raffle ticket with gift cards and prizes, a bake sale, white elephant sale, and food to eat in or take out.

Cookie sale

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is extending its last call before the holidays for molasses tongue cookies. Call the church office at 610-826-2524 or Terri at 610-392-1865 to place your order by Nov. 3. Pickup Nov. 13 at the church, 502 Lafayette Ave., on Nov. 13 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. This is the same date as the bazaar.

Knitting club

The knitting club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library on Monday, Nov. 1 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The club is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels.

Fiber Guild

The Blue Mountain Fiber Guild will meet at the Palmerton Area Library on Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. The group explores all things related to fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, etc. Come check it out.

Trick or treat

The Palmerton Borough will hold trick or treat Saturday from 5-7 p.m.

Towamensing Township is holding trick or treat night on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. The Trachsville Fire Company will be handing out candy to trick or treaters so please feel free to stop by the station.

The Bowmanstown Borough will hold trick or treat Saturday from 6-8 p.m.

Kids Harvest Event

Bethany Wesleyan Church, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, is hosting a Kid’s Harvest Party on Sunday. This event is for kids ages 3 through fifth grade and will be meeting from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Enjoy crafts, snacks, prizes and games. There will be a costume contest and lots of fun opportunities for prizes.

Cub Scout Pack 209

There will be a mandatory parents meeting Nov. 1 in the JUCC church grove at 6:30 p.m. This will be in lieu of den meetings that evening. If possible, it is encouraged to leave your Scout at home for this meeting.

Comedy Night

The parents club of Palmerton Class of 2022 is selling tickets for a fun night out with comedy, dancing, 50/50 raffle and a basket social. DJ Danny E, beer, cash bar, BYOB and snacks. Comedy acts are opening act Meg Goetz, headliner Chris Coccia, and featuring Chip Chantry. The event will be held Nov. 6, at the Palmerton Sokol Hall, 452 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton.
