The pairings for the District 11 playoffs have been announced, and three area teams earned No. 1 seeds.

Northwestern is the top seed in both the boys’ and girls’ Class 3A soccer brackets, while the Marian volleyball team is the No. 1 seed in Class 1A.

After defeating Southern Lehigh 2-0 on Saturday to win the Colonial League title, the Tigers’ boys soccer team will now set its sights on a third-straight Class 3A district title and fifth championship in six years in the classification.

Northwestern has a bye into the semifinals, where it will face the winner of Saucon Valley-East Stroudsburg South on Nov. 2.

The Tigers’ girls’ soccer team also claimed the Colonial League title - their third in a row - with a 2-0 win over the Spartans on Saturday and will now be looking for back-to-back Class 3A district titles and three-straight overall.

Like the boys’ squad, Northwestern’s girls have a bye into the semis and will face the winner of the Bangor-Blue Mountain contest on Nov. 2.

A year after winning the Class 1A district title and advancing to the state final, the Fillies look primed for another deep postseason run once again.

Marian will face the winner of the Salem Christian-Mahanoy Area match in the semifinals on Oct. 28.

After battling to the Colonial League field hockey final on Saturday, Palmerton is the No. 2 seed in Class 1A.

The Bombers, who fell to Southern Lehigh in the championship contest, will play the winner of the Bethlehem Catholic-Wilson game in the semifinals on Nov. 3.

Palmerton’s girls soccer team also earned a No. 2 seed in the Class 2A bracket after advancing to the Colonial League semifinals.
