Pocono Garden Club to create wreaths

The members of the Pocono Garden Club will create hydrangea wreaths and greeting cards when they meet on Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Monroe County Conservation District, 8050 Running Valley Road, Bartonsville.

Club members and guests should bring blank wreaths made from grapevines, wire, straw or styrofoam. Club members Sharon Carey and Maryann LaPenna are donating fresh and dried hydrangeas. Bring other flowers if you’d like to add them to your wreath. Instructions will be provided.

Members should also bring printed photographs of flowers from their gardens for making greeting cards that the club will use for Cheerio wishes and in future fundraising. The photos will be attached to blank cards provided at the meeting.

Participation is encouraged in the monthly design exhibit, titled “Bountiful,” a design of choice using a cornucopia basket and featuring autumn hues.

The horticultural entry would be a bouquet of dried materials in a container of choice, or whatever is blooming in your garden in a clear container. The houseplant entry would be a variegated leaf or cactus.

Please bring in your entries 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

Everyone interested in gardening is welcome to attend. Masks are required. No food is allowed. Please bring your own water bottle.
