Carbon County court — ARD

Five defendants in pending criminal cases were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Monday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Prislynn M. Hosier, 43, of Lehighton, was placed for two years on aggravated assault - attempts to cause or causes serious bodily injured to designated individuals and six other counts.

She was arrested on Feb. 20 by Mahoning Township police along Orioles Drive after police officers and a deputy sheriff were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on another person.

She was assessed $650 for the cost of the program and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.

Stephanie Craig, 40, of Shenandoah, was placed on a charge of retail theft.

She was arrested on Jan. 1 by Mahoning Township police at the Walmart store.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and make restitution to Walmart for $363.94.

Nicholas Clayton Kulp, 22, of Lansford, was placed on a retail theft charge.

He was arrested on March 28 by Lansford police at the Turkey Hill store. He was an employee of the store and accused of taking lottery tickets.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to make restitution of $471 to the store.

Timothy Patton, 21, of Summit Hill, was placed on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested on May 27, 2019, by Summit Hill police in the 100 block of West South Street.

He was assessed $650 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Anthony Richard Bekesy, 29, of Lehighton, was placed for two years on a charge of recklessly endangering another person and related counts.

He was arrested on Dec. 9, 2020, by Nesquehoning police after being involved in a crash along Route 209 in which two people were seriously injured.

He was assessed $650 and ordered to make restitution to one victim for $68,765.34; and a second victim for $35,145.23. Bekesy will not have to pay the restitution if his insurance covers it; if not, he is responsible.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of over $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
