October 21, 2008 - Palmerton’s Dan Costenbader shoots a second-day round of 71 to lift him into a tie for sixth place at the PIAA State Golf Championships at Heritage Hills in York. Costenbader finished the first day in 22nd place after posting a score of 77, but the Bomber junior betters that score by six strokes to earn a state medal. Costenbader finishes the day with four birdies. His score of 148 ends four strokes behind the gold-medal winning David Denlinger of Lancaster Mennonite. Teammate Mike Englert also competes at states. After an off day on Day 1, he rebounds with a respectable 79 on Day 2.
