East Stroudsburg University senior Luke Valdevit was announced on Monday as the PSAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

The Pleasant Valley graduate helped the Warriors finish seventh in the team standings at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday with a third-place individual finish. Valdevit crossed the line in a season-best time of 26:27.5.

This is the first time that Valdevit has earned Athlete of the Week accolades while at ESU. He becomes just the 11th ESU men’s cross country athlete to win the award since 2007 and first since Casey Ellis, who won the award twice during the 2019 season.

Valdevit and the Warriors return to action on Friday, Oct. 22 at the PSAC Championships (at Kutztown), beginning at 11 a.m.
