Rummage Sale

St. John Lutheran Church, Pine and Mauch Chunk streets, Tamaqua, will be holding a rummage sale on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., lunch and supper will be served; Oct. 20, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., lunch and supper will be served; and Oct. 21, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., lunch will be served.

Refreshments and takeouts available. For more information, call 570-668-4570.

American Primitive

Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua.

There will be no Sunday school until further notice.

Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley.

Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on Oct. 12 with 41 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “Signs of Autumn.”

Nancy Nunemacher was added to the sick list. Birthdays celebrated in September were Robert Neifert, Ruthann Feane, Nancy Eisely and Debbie Kerestus. October birthdays included Shirly Kaiser and Carol Sedlock. Halloween decorations were won by Nancy Godenis.

The Christmas party is scheduled for Dec. 7 at Capriotti’s, McAdoo.

The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m., Christ Church, Barnesville. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Oct. 7 with 31 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “Love Eternal.”

Madelene Heffelfinger was added to the sick list. October birthdays are Shirley Kaiser and Carol Sedlock.

The group meets every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service at Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are scheduled for 9:15 a.m. and evening service at 6:30 p.m. Special music this Sunday by April Gerber.

Wednesday, prayer meeting at 7 p.m.; Oct. 24, special speaker Chris Fisher at the 10:25 a.m. service.

Tamaqua Library

Fall Storytime every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m., now through Nov. 11; call the library at 570-668-4660 to register.

Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends fundraiser - buy your pass at the library and shop Boscov’s on Oct. 20, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and save 25% with your pass.
