State police - crashes

State police at Lehighton reported investigating the following crashes in Monroe County.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 11:27 p.m. on Oct. 6 along Middle Creek Road in Polk Township.

Troopers said Brigham C. Vonstetten, 44, of Albrightsville, was operating a 2016 Lincoln-Continental MKZ and attempting to negotiate a right hand curve in the road at a high rate of speed.

Vonstetten lost control of the vehicle, which went onto the berm and struck a tree.

Vonstetten refused medical attention at the scene. He was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 5:43 a.m. on Oct. 7 along Route 115 at the intersection with Anchorage Road, in Ross Township.

Troopers said William E. Trumbore, 66, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Anchorage Road with Robert M. Mann, 24, of Sellersville, Bucks County, behind him driving a 2007 Ford F450, and collided into Trumbore’s vehicle.

Troopers said Trum­bore, Mann and his passenger, Matthew M. High, 31, of Stroudsburg, all refused medical treatment at the scene.

The Silverado had to be towed.

• State police at Stroudsburg reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 7:33 a.m. on Oct. 6 along Route 33 in Hamilton Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Canaan E. Schultheis, 31, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta northbound and moved over to avoid emergency vehicles on the right shoulder.

While in the left lane his vehicle struck a deer that was in the left lane.

No one was injured. The vehicle had to be towed.
