In other business, commissioners approved a supplemental budget resolution indicating $500,000 of back taxes were collected by the Tax Claim Bureau, Finance Director Paul Buber said.

Money is distributed to school districts, municipalities and the county.

The following budget adjustments were approved: homeless assistance program bridge housing $16; Human Resources $75; solid waste $855; tax claim bureau $4,500; MIS Department $5,300; American Rescue Plan $8,000; Human Services Block Grants $20,000 Children and Youth $45,000 and Prison $46,500.

Buber explained the amounts for the Human Services Block Grants, Children and Youth and Prison. Funds for the first were reimbursed to the Schuylkill Transportation System for mileage transporting riders for the Medical Assistance Transportation Program.

Money for Children and Youth were for COVID-19 expenses and supplies for the rest of the year.

Overtime costs for the last three months account for the $45,000 expense. Buber said there are 46 full-time correction officer positions at the prison. Of those, 44 are filled. There are 10 part-time positions and eight are vacant.
