Together with Veterans NEPA is hosting two outreach programs to support area veterans.
The organization is a new program that aims to help veterans.
On Oct. 21, a free spaghetti community luncheon and conversation on addressing veteran suicide and mental health support will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lehighton American Legion Post 314, 381 Bridge St., Lehighton.
Christine LeClair, Carbon County Veterans Affairs director, said the event is open to veterans, as well as EMT, police officer, doctor, nurse, social worker, community volunteer, veteran, member of the clergy, concerned family/friend of a veteran, or work in the public/private sector and have veteran consumers.
“Our aim is to not only provide information to help better serve our veterans, but to listen to our community members to gain an understanding of gaps in services,” she said.

On Oct. 23, Together with Veterans will also host a community hike and resource fair at Mauch Chunk Lake Park.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include a hike and lunch in the park; as well as information on veteran wellness and mental health.
