Schuylkill Chamber adds community director

The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce announces that Renee Del Valle Buchanan has joined the chamber staff as the community outreach director.

The community outreach director position was recently developed by the chamber in an effort to expand outreach to members and community members. Buchanan will work closely with our business and nonprofit communities. Previously, Buchanan was employed by Shenandoah Senior Living Community for over 10 years.

Buchanan, a Schuylkill County native, volunteers for local nonprofit organizations such as Schuylkill County’s VISION, Alzheimer’s Association, Healthy Shenandoah, Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill, Downtown Shenandoah Inc., and Polish American Fire Company.

“The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce staff and our board of directors are excited to welcome Renee to the chamber team,” said Robert S. Carl Jr., president and CEO of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce. “The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce has a specific vision and mission, and as part of that direction, a desire to expand community outreach on a more personal and individual face-to-face basis. Renee has worked with the chamber for many years in a volunteer capacity, been awarded the prestigious Business Woman of the Year from the chamber in 2020, and knows our community at large,” Carl said.

“I’m very excited to join the chamber team. I believe that the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce is a valuable resource and vital to the area’s businesses, nonprofits and communities. My previous experience in working with the chamber as a member representative and as a committee member over the past decade, made my decision to accept this position, a very easy one. I look forward to working with the chamber’s Board of Directors, staff and volunteers; reacquainting with the current members and eager to welcome new members,” said Renee Del Valle Buchanan, community outreach director.

Carl said the chamber desired a very targeted hire with specific goals in mind and the staff believes Buchanan is the right candidate at this time in the chamber development to pursue our objectives.

“Renee will fit in nicely with our current awesome chamber team, and we are excited to welcome her aboard,” said Carl.

The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce currently represents 751 business and nonprofit members, and is dedicated to serving members while improving life and economic growth in our community.
