Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents:
• Andrew Paul Masscotti, 27, of Center Street, Tamaqua, has been charged with two counts of bad checks.
He was charged after police received a complaint from Hollenbach Home Comfort Services Inc., that on two occasions Masscotti gave them checks to pay for fuel deliveries to his home. In both cases the checks were returned for insufficient funds.
The victim sent Masscotti registered letters concerning the checks. He did not respond and the charges were filed. Total amount due is $343.94.
• Damian Smolick, 19, of North Elizabeth Street, Tamaqua, has been charged with disorderly conduct for an incident on Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. On that date and time officers responded to North Railroad Street for a report of several gun shots heard and yelling near the Dutch Hill area. While on patrol officers received a communication from the county center that there were shots fired near East Elm Street. Moments later, police came in contact with two men on a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle. When approached, officers observed a man carrying a shotgun on the four wheeler. The rear passenger, Smolick, said he was shooting off the shotgun in nearby woods. The ATV operator was told to walk the vehicle back to his home. Smolick was told he would receive a citation in the mail.
