October 8, 1976 - Slatington pulls out a 14-12 Centennial League victory over Pocono Mountain despite being dominated on the stats page. The Bulldogs gain only six first downs and 153 yards of offense, compared to 21 first downs and 318 yards by the Cardinals, but Dick Snell’s club receives key plays on special teams to earn the win. An 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Ron Zellner negates Pocono’s first tally, while two PATs off the foot of Greg Miller prove to be the difference. George Hough adds a 6-yard TD run, while the defense stops a two-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter to preserve the lead.
