Three people with ties to the area will be inducted into the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Lehigh Valley Chapter on Sunday, Oct. 31.

The three are Jim Corpora, John Blick and Bill Brong.

Corpora was a teacher in the Lehighton Area School District for 34 years, and has been a football official at both the high school and college levels for many seasons. Corpora is also a softball umpire and is a member of the Lehigh Valley Softball Hall of Fame. He also coached the Lehighton girls basketball team in 1997-98.

Blick was a standout lineman at Pleasant Valley from 1993-96, earning All-State honors and participating in the Big 33 game before heading to Penn State. As a Nittany Lion, he became the first true freshman offensive lineman to start under Joe Paterno. After his PSU career, during which the team posted a 38-11 record, he spent a year on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad.

Brong played his high school football at Pleasant Valley and taught in the Lehighton School District for many years. He was the Indians’ head coach from 2001-07, and was a longtime assistant at the school under Dave Parsons. Brong has also been an assistant at Nazareth and Kings College.

Also being inducted at the event, to be held at the Northampton Banquet and Event Center, will be Brock Holland, Ed Hudak and Jeff Bleamer.
