Woman charged with selling drugs with son waives hearing

The Tamaqua woman charged with selling drugs with her 16-year-old son waived her right to a preliminary hearing recently.

Amy Lynn Lehatto appeared before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer on Sept. 14.

She is charged with seven counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, one cost of conspiracy-manufacture, delivery, or possession, with intent to manufacture or deliver, three counts of possessing a controlled substance, and one count each of corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children and conspiracy-sale giving a controlled substance to a dependent person.

Police had information Lehatto’s son had offered to sell Xanax, Percocet and acid on Snapchat.

The Tamaqua Police Drug Task Force videotaped the Jan. 6 encounter between Lehatto, who was driving a silver jeep, with her son as the passenger, and a confidential informant in the borough.

Police said Lehatto took $150 from the informant and was handed the pills and acid from her son. She then gave the drugs to the informant.

A juvenile petition was filed for her son.
