Edward Pascoe of Coaldale had one of the biggest nights of his life last night when the community’s volunteer fire company paid him tribute for 50 years of consecutive membership in the unit.

About 60 members of the company and friends were on hand at a dinner program held in the Coaldale VFW Post Home.

The honored guest was presented several gifts from the fire company, including a 50-year membership pin. The presentations were made by Paul Sheers, fire company president. Steve Rajnic was toastmaster for the affair and introduced two other 50-year members of the company who were present, Thomas J. Evans and Charles Nedd. Other 50-year members who were unable to attend are Thomas J. West and Daniel Sheerin.
