Lansford gears up for holiday events

Fall is here, and the holidays are right around the corner. Lansford is the place to be this time of year.

In an effort to shine a spotlight on Lansford, and the Panther Valley Area, the Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corp. along with Lansford Alive is promoting a three-month event-filled calendar.

• Oct. 23: Moonlight Market on Ridge Street.

• Nov. 20: Moonlight Market on Ridge Street.

• Nov. 27: Tree Lighting in Kennedy Park

• Dec. 18-Jan. 2: Lights in Lansford (Kennedy Park)

The Moonlight Markets will take place 4 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 23 on Ridge Street.

The events will offer shopping, food and entertainment.

CCEDC is now accepting vendor applications.

The annual tree lighting hosted by Lansford Alive will take place in Kennedy Park is 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27.

Lights in Lansford kicks off on Dec. 18 with a short ceremony (time to be determined).

The Park will be illuminated with Christmas lights along with a walk-through light tunnel and 4-foot snow globe offering a great backdrop for family holiday photos.

Hot chocolate will be served, along with an appearance from Santa. The lights will stay up until Jan. 2. Residents and guests alike are encouraged to enjoy the beautiful park this holiday season. There is also planning for a future Santa parade with details coming soon.
