Hicks takes part in ‘Pandemic Project’

An inducted member of the Domino Players Company, Ebony Hicks of Albrightsville was a member of the directing team for “Kintsugi, a Pandemic Project.” A graduate of Pocono Mountain West High School, Hicks is studying theater at Albright.

Produced by Jeffrey Lentz ’85, senior artist in residence at Albright College, “Kintsugi, a Pandemic Project” filled Albright’s Wachovia Theatre with live, short works, highlighting resiliency and social inequities during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with liquid gold to illuminate the beauty of its imperfections rather than to conceal its flaws.

Using Kintsugi as a potent metaphor, Albright Theatre and the college’s resident theater company, the Domino Players, highlight the resiliency that binds people together while reflecting on the social inequities that continue to pull people apart - as people restore pieces of their shattered lives following a global pandemic.
