Weatherly hires its new superintendent

At a special meeting held Sept. 29, the Weatherly Area School Board voted unanimously to appoint Daniel M. Malloy as the district’s new superintendent. His salary is set at $110,000 and the term of employment is three years.

Malloy can begin as superintendent as soon as he completes arrangements with his current employer, the Hanover Area School District. There, he has served as high school principal for nearly 10 years.

Malloy has worked for the Hanover district for 24 years, starting as an instructor in 1997. He was promoted to assistant secondary principal in 2005, and to principal in 2012.

He has a master’s degree from Bloomsburg University, his superintendent letter of eligibility from Delaware Valley College, and a bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University. He resides in Hanover.
