Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:
• Approved the 2022 Police Pension Fund Minimum Municipal Obligation in the amount of $208,420.
• Approved the 2022 Non-Uniform Pension Fund Minimum Municipal Obligation in the amount of $75,931.
• Approved attorney Armin Feldman alternate legal services for Northface litigation.
• Approved attorney Robert Frycklund as alternate legal services for Itterly litigation.
• Granted the Palmerton United Veterans Organization permission to install a flagpole at the Veterans Memorial.
• Approved a holding tank agreement for 1494 Mauch Chunk Road septic system.
• Agreed to raise the rate for the borough’s leaf collection program to $11 an hour. The prior rate was $9.50 an hour.
• On a 5-1 vote, denied a grievance dated Aug. 23 regarding a personnel file issue. Councilman Michael Ballard was opposed.
• Approved a request for assistance with today’s (Sept. 28) Palmerton High School’s cross-country meet.
• Granted permission for the Palmerton Halloween Parade to be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 17, with the rain date Oct. 18.
• Approved a request for the use of two parking spaces for the second annual Give a Gobbler event to be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 17.
• Granted approval to the Palmerton Chamber of Commerce to hold Palmerton Day on July 3, with the rain date July 4.
