A flood advisory is in effect until 1130 a.m. for Northern Northampton,

Southern Carbon, And Southern Monroe Counties.

At 8:40 a.m. Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen and an additional 0.5 inches or so are possible.

Some locations that may experience flooding include Lehighton, Palmerton, Jim Thorpe, Slatington, Pen Argyl, Nesquehoning and Walnutport.
