A Luzerne County man is facing charges after he drove a vehicle through a field causing extensive damages to trees that were being grown for sale.

State police at Hazleton said the incident occurred off Grist Mill Drive in Packer Township, Carbon County, on Sept. 24. A 29-year-old man from Weatherly reported a total of 1,371 trees were damaged. Damages were estimated at $2,742.

As a result of an investigation a 32-year-old man from Hazleton, who troopers declined to identify, was charged with criminal mischief for driving his 2007 Ford through the field.
