Rush Twp. to form economic development committee

The Rush Township Board of Supervisors approved an Economic Development Committee of township residents at the recent supervisors meeting. The main purpose of the committee is to have a group of people help in bringing business to Rush Township, like restaurants and stores.

According to Supervisor Robert Leibensperger, several people had approached township officials about starting such a committee.

“Right now, we’re passing this motion to get things started. We want to say to people, ‘This is what we’re looking at, these are the guidelines that you need to follow, this is how you have to represent yourself as a representative of the township.’ This is just the first step; it will take a few months until we get the program going. Some people had already sent emails to some companies to get them to come in. This way we can make it more official.”
