Mrs. Dorothy Mengel, 302 N. Seventh St., Lehighton, has been appointed by the Carbon County Board of Commissioners to fill a vacancy on the county’s Housing Authority.

She succeeds Frederick W. Manning, formerly of Lehighton, who resigned when he relocated to the Naomi Lake area of the Poconos.

Mrs. Mengel is manager of the Lehighton branch office of People’s First National Bank and Trust Company.

In other action relating to personnel, resignations under the Office of Aging were accepted as follows: Dennis Hinger and Glenn Wagner, part-time transportation drivers, and Sandra Gazdick, homeworker trainee.
