Carbon County Planning Commission made recommendations on the following proposed projects within the county during its monthly meeting on Tuesday.
• Daniel and Ann Schoenberger and Philip and Debra and Marc Edward Cinamella received conditional plan approval for a proposed subdivision/lot line revision at 1161 Hemlock St. and Briar Street, Franklin Township. The plans call for subdividing one lot and combining it with another lot to create a 2.063-acre lot.
• Tarone E. Blocker received conditional plan rejection for a plan at 120 Douglas St., rear, Mahoning Township. The plan called for subdividing 52.6 acres into two lots.
No action taken
• Edward and Regina Kanick applied for a subdivision of 11.2131 acres of land along Lentz Trail in Jim Thorpe into four lots, but the planning commission took no action on the matter, saying that there were “several areas of noncompliance with the requirements of the Jim Thorpe Borough Land Development Ordinance and Zoning Ordinance” and that it precludes any recommendation at this time. The commission pointed out that the project has the potential to contaminate Mauch Chunk Creek and borough water supply tap for the west side of the borough based on the location to the Mauch Chunk Creek watershed. The comments will be sent to Jim Thorpe for inclusion in its review of the project.
