Bach & Handel Chorale to hold Christmas concerts

After a long hiatus due to COVID-19, the Bach & Handel Chorale in Jim Thorpe is rehearsing again and will hold its Christmas concert series in December.

This year marks the 37th year of the Chorale performing many classical selections in addition to Bach and Handel.

The Chorale returns to the historic St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Race Street in Jim Thorpe on Dec. 4 at 3 p.m.

They will also perform at 3 p.m. on Dec. 11 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ringtown; and 3 p.m. Dec. 12 at St Paul’s UCC, Trexlertown.

“While we know that the pandemic has altered the lives of many, including myself,” said founder and conductor Randall Perry, “One thing that it has not been able to take away is music. While churches, concert halls and other musical venues were closed, the music was always there; always just waiting to be performed.

“Happily, we have now arrived at that point and we rejoice.”

The Chorale is planning a Palm Sunday Concert at The Lutheran Church of St. John’s in the Heights, in Jim Thorpe, plus an annual benefit concert, date and location to be named later.
