One person was injured following a one-car crash Monday morning in Palmerton.

Borough police officer Brian White said the incident occurred around 8 a.m. when a 2007 Chevy Silverado operated by Jeffrey Gildner of Palmerton was traveling down the 800 block of Lafayette Avenue and went off the road, down an embankment and into the Aquashicola Creek.

White said the vehicle was behind 4100 Forest Inn Road when police arrived.

He said the condition of Gildner was unknown because he had already been transported to St. Luke’s Lehighton Campus.

White said the vehicle suffered disabling damage.

He said the incident remains under investigation by borough police.

White said Lehighton State Police and All Points Towing assisted at the scene.
