Carbon County is adding $1.337 million in funds to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
On Thursday, Commissioner Chris Lukasevich announced that the county has received notification from the state that an additional allocation for an ERAP-2 payment is being processed and will be added to the $4.22 million the county had already received for the program
The Emergency Rental Assistance Program aims to help provide families and individuals financial assistance for rent including: rent, rental arrears, utilities, and home energy costs incurred due, directly, or indirectly, to COVID-19.
Carbon County has approved approximately 217 applications and has distributed just over $1 million of the funds to date.
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Allentown has been overseeing the program for both Carbon and Lehigh counties.
