Kidder seeks owner of dog found tied to a sign

Kidder Township Police Department are seeking information on the owner of a dog who was found this morning tied up to a sign.

The township police department was called this morning for a dog tied to a sign on Route 903.

Officers located the dog on the State Game Lands parking lot on Route 90, where it was found tied to the game land’s sign with no food or water.

The dog is currently at the Carbon County Animal Shelter, according to director Tom Connors.

“The dog definitely had an issue with flea infestation, and also appeared to be malnourished, the ribs were showing on the dog,” Connors said. “With that said, it was very friendly.”

Connors said it appears to be a younger female lab-pit mix, possibly a year old or a little younger.

“It’s back at the shelter now under our care, we gave it a bath, fed it, and it’s in a nice, clean kennel,” he said. “It’s just unfortunate that these incidents keep occurring more and more.”

Connors said he expects the dog will be just fine.

“It appears to be doing well,” he said. “We expect it to bounce back, and everything be good.”

Anyone with information about the owner is asked to contact the Kidder Township Police Department at 570-722-0192.
