A “Return to Mauch Chunk Pow Wow” will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park.

The event will feature Matt White Eagle Clair and Chris Mourning Dove Clair as the lead men’s and women’s dancers, respectively, while the lead veteran dancer will be Richard Quite Hawk Welker.

The entertainment will include the Gray Cloud Singers as the host Northern drum and Red Storm as the host Southern drum. The Medicine Horse Singers will be among the guest drums.

Also participating will be Mwenkenay Kshuwsu Asuwichik (Itchy Dog Singers), while a special performance on Saturday will be by the Jim Beer Family Band. Visitors will be welcome to participate in social dancing sessions.

Barry Lee will be the master of ceremonies.

The event is free of charge, however, donations will be accepted. Social distancing protocol will be enforced.
