A Weatherly woman was injured when she was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart store in Hazle Township at 10:13 a.m. Sept. 3.

State police at the Hazleton barracks said Crystal L. Vetter, 38, was walking back and forth behind a 2010 Toyota Rav4 when its driver, Jose M. Perez, 21, of Tresckow, began to drive in reverse from the parking stall and hit her.

Police said they were told Vetter staggered for about two steps and remained on her feet. Asked if she was hurt or if the driver should call police, the woman reportedly answered “no” and walked from the scene.

Police said they were notified the woman went to a hospital at 12:07 p.m. to be evaluated for possible injuries.
