State police at Bethlehem - Crashes
State police at Bethlehem reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.
• A crash was reported at 5:19 p.m. on Aug. 10 along Route 22 in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.
Troopers said Thomas J. Stauffer, 45, of Slatington, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Impala, and Christian D. Tassinari, 26, of Saylorsburg, driving a 2016 Subaru Forester, were both eastbound and both slowed for traffic. Stauffer was unable to slow in time and rear-ended the Forester with his Impala.
Tassinari sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. Stauffer was not injured.
Troopers cited Stauffer for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
• A crash occurred at 10:33 a.m. on Aug. 5 along West Main Street in Bath, Northampton County.
Troopers said Ryan J. Howard, 38, of Walnutport, driving a 2016 Mazda 3, was stopped for a stop sign eastbound at the intersection with Race Street, while Lee A. Stephens, 69, of Orefield, driving a 2007 Freightliner truck tractor was westbound attempting a left turn. As Stephens began to turn Howard pulled out without proper clearance and his Mazda was struck by the truck.
Howard and his passenger, Nancy J. Howard, 67, of Walnutport, were both injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. Stephens was not injured.
Troopers cited Howard for a stop sign violation.
• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 5:06 p.m. on Aug. 16 along Weaversville Road in Hanover Township.
Troopers said Malik X. Zver, 21, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2009 Ford Focus westbound and began to negotiate a right hand curve. The car veered left at which time Zver was unable to regain control. The car then rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise striking a sign on the south berm of the road.
Zver sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg.
He was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
