A man is dead following a two-vehicle crash early Monday evening in Chestnuthill Township.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Weir Lake Road and Route 209 and involved a motor vehicle versus motorcycle, according to Monroe County Chief Deputy Coroner Maurice Moreno.

Moreno said the motorcycle driver died on scene. The man was in his 20s, but his identity was not released as they are still trying to identify next of kin, he said.

Moreno said an autopsy will be conducted Wednesday.

He said they are unaware of any injuries involving the occupants of the other vehicle because they were not on scene by the time the coroner arrived on scene.

Fern Ridge State Police is in charge of the investigation. A report has not been issued yet.
