Route 902 in Summit Hill was closed after a pickup snapped off a utility pole and brought down wires.

The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. Monday as the driver was traveling south near the Summit Hill and Mahoning Township border.

According to reports on the scene, the male driver lost control, swerving to the right entering the berm impacting with and snapping off a utility pole.

After the crash the driver fled the scene running north on Route 902. Responding to the scene were the Diligent Fire Company of Summit Hill and Lehighton paramedics.

Summit Hill police are investigating the incident.
