The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Sept. 6-10 is as follows:

Monday: Center closed for Labor Day

Tuesday: Sloppy Joe, baked beans, coleslaw, diced peaches or ham and swiss wrap

Wednesday: Shrimp scampi, penne pasta, zucchini blend, ambrosia or shrimp salad

Thursday: Orange juice, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, waffle stix, fruit salad or barbecue chicken sandwich

Friday: Pork and peppers, stir fry vegetables, brown rice, vanilla pudding or turkey Reuben sandwich

The Panther Valley Senior Center also announced upcoming events through Sept. 17.

Shut The Box on Sept. 3 at 11 a.m.

Center Closed Labor Day, Sept. 6; Bingo on Sept. 7 at 10:45 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Sept. 8 at 11 a.m.; Show and Tell on Sept. 9 at 11 a.m.; Sunshine Meeting on Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. followed by Games.

Highway Safety Program on Sept. 13 at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on Sept. 14 at 10:45 a.m.; Wii Bowling Tournament on Sept. 15 at 10 a.m.; Bingo on Sept. 16 at 10:45 a.m.; Movie and Popcorn on Sept. 17 at 10 a.m.

Upcoming bus trip to Wind Creek Casino on Sept. 27 leaving at 10 a.m.

Pool, cards, games and socialization available every day.

New members always welcome.

Nesquehoning

Historical society

The Nesquehoning Historical Society Museum is now open for visits on the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon.

The building is located at 157 W. Railroad St., in Nesquehoning. There is no charge, however, donations are welcome.

Conservation club

The next meeting of the Nesquehoning Conservation Club is 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the pond pavilion. This is a rain date since the previous meeting had to be canceled due to the weather.
