One person was killed and three others injured in a crash Friday evening in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred at 5:53. m. along Route 901 in Barry Township.

Troopers said Ryan J. Little, 24, of Mount Carmel, was driving a 2003 Hyundai Elantra eastbound while Charles J. Hepler, 47, of Frackville, was driving a 2015 Dodge Caravan westbound. Troopers said possibly due to speed and road conditions Little lost control of his vehicle, traveled across the center lines and struck the van.

Little was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hepler and two passengers, Joseph Shemansik, 43, of Mahanoy City, and Charles P. Kutz, 53, of Pottsville, were injured and taken to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Little was not wearing a seat belt.

The van was the property of Pottsville radio station WAVT-FM. The three injured in the van were employees of the station and were reportedly en route to Mount Carmel to broadcast the Mount Carmel and North Schuylkill high school football game.
