Tuscarora park events scheduled

• Conservation volunteer and avid birder David Kruel will lead a bird walk on Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. The walk will begin at the Locust Lake State Park, Barnesville, parking lot. Kruel will offer information about how to identify the local and migratory songbirds by sight, song, habitat and behavior. The walk is sponsored by the Schuylkill Conservancy. Those attending are encouraged to bring along binoculars. This is not a pet friendly walk. Shine only. Must register by calling Robin Tracey at 570-467-2506. Space is limited.

• Join DCNR conservation volunteer, Pap Knauss, on the “Spirit of Tuscarora Trail” at 11 a.m. on Sept. 11. The trail is 4.5 miles long and moderate in difficulty. The trail winds through several diverse habitats with a beautiful view of the Tuscarora Lake cove. Meet in the upper beach parking lot at Tuscarora State Park near the trail head and bring a lunch. Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and get along well with people and other pets. Shine only. Preregistration is required by calling 570-467-2506.
