August 27, 1994 - Lehighton resident Alyssa Fabian wins the women’s 5K race at the annual Chris Truskey Memorial Run at Tuscarora State Park. Fabian completes the course in 21:08, more than a minute faster than runner-up Mary Lou Ryan of Shamokin. A total of 182 competitors take part in the event, held in memory of former Tamaqua runner and wrestler Chris Truskey. Tamaqua’s Kevin Truskey places third in the men’s race in a time of 18:04, 32 seconds behind overall winner and Blue Mountain graduate Mike Carriglitto.
