State police cite dog owners

State police at Lehighton reported on the following citations involving dogs.

• Arthur Minissa, 65, of Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, has been cited for a dog law violation. Troopers said they were dispatched to the area of 46 Wyandot Way, in Penn Forest Township, on Aug. 8 at 10:08 a.m. for a report of a dog bite. Through an investigation it was determined that the victim was bit by a dog while riding a bicycle on a public roadway. Minissa was identified as the owner of the dog involved.

• On Aug. 9 at 9:20 p.m. troopers responded to the area of 141 Strausser Lane, in Jackson Township, Monroe County, for a dog law violation. During the investigation it was discovered that a 29-year-old woman from Stroudsburg, who troopers declined to identify, did not properly secure her dog. The dog then chased after a 81-year-old woman from Reeders, making her fall, which caused an injury.

The dog owner was charged, troopers said.
