Area state police release information on the following crashes:

• A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash at 2:05 p.m. July 21 along Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville released information on the crash Tuesday.

Troopers said Mark A. Mariano, 46, of Quakertown, and Phillip N. Kulp, 43, of New Ringgold, were both traveling on the on-ramp to Route 309 from 78. Both vehicles merger onto I-78 with Mariano traveling into the center lane and Kulp into the right lane. Both were traveling too fast for wet road conditions, troopers said, causing them to lose control of their vehicles and a collision occurred. After impact, Mariano’s 2013 BMW M5 ended up in a ditch while Kulp’s 2016 BMW M3 ended up on the right shoulder of the road.

No one was injured. Mariano’s vehicle had to be towed.

Both drivers were cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

• A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a three-vehicle crash along Interstate 81 in Rice Township, Luzerne County, at 8:35 p.m. on July 30.

State police at Hazleton said Bud J. Abram, 43, of Piney Flats, Tennessee, was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram truck in the far left lane where it merges into two lanes while Kathleen R. Noll-Wimbrow, 64, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2019 Ford Escape in the center lane next to Abram. As Abram merged to the right, the rear tires of a trailer he was towing struck the Escape on the left front side. After impact, the Escape traveled toward the right lane and struck the left side of a 2012 Peterbilt truck operated by Jesus O. Dominguez, 38, of Edinburg, Texas.

No one was injured. The Escape had to be towed.

• A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following an incident that occurred on July 15 at 5:41 p.m. along Route 61 at Summer Valley Road (Route 895) in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers said Diane J. Squyres, 61, of Saint Clair, was driving a 2005 Subaru Forester and attempting to enter 61 from 895 and proceed north. She attempted to enter into the driving lane of 61 northbound when she stopped before entering and proceeded to place her vehicle in reverse and backed up onto a concrete divider and subsequently collided with a traffic control device support beam.

Squyres was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville, for medical evaluation due to being under the influence, troopers said. She was not injured. The vehicle was operable but was towed from the scene.

• Troopers also investigated a hit-and-run crash on July 16 at 10:36 p.m. along Red Church Road in West Brunswick Township. Sometime between 5 and 7 p.m. a crash occurred at 270 Red Church Road. A driver attempted to negotiate a left curve and failed. The vehicle traveled down an embankment and into a yard, striking a fence. The driver then drove through the yard and back onto Red Church Road and fled the scene.
