Lehighton’s Miller has big tournament season with In The Zone Platinum Elite

Hailey Miller recently capped a successful summer basketball tournament schedule with the In The Zone 2022 Platinum Elite AAU team.

Miller, a three-year starter at Lehighton High School who will be a senior this school year, was part of a team that was comprised of high school standouts from across the Lehigh Valley.

The team competed in 11 tournaments throughout the summer, playing nearly 50 games.

In The Zone compiled an overall record of 43-6, winning five local tournament championships. The team also played in four national tournaments, capturing titles in two of them. The team outscored its opponents by 839 points over the course of the 49 games for an average margin of victory of 17.1 points per game.

Miller was a workhorse for the team, playing in 10 of the 11 tournaments. She had a summer-high 19 points in the championship game of the May Mayhem Tournament at Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim.

In The Zone’s tournament resume included championships in the Competitive Edge Sports Hoop Battle in King of Prussia, the Premier Events May Mayhem at Spooky Nook Sports, the Crossover Hoops Battle on the Hardwood at Spooky Nook Sports, the Junior 76ers Challenge at Spooky Nook Sports, and the Premier Events Summer Mayhem at Spooky Nook Sports.

The team also played in a pair of tournaments in Orlando, and one each in Louisville and Chicago, winning its Silver Championship in the Run 4 Roses Tournament in Louisville and capturing a Gold Championship in the Orlando Splash Tournament in Orlando.

In The Zone is located in Bath. In addition to Miller, the 2022 Platinum Elite roster was comprised of Kailey Turpening (Freedom), Kelly Leszcynski (Nazareth), Julia Roth (Allentown Central Catholic), Anye Staton (Easton), Madeline Ahearn (Nazareth), Ella Laky (Whitehall), Raegan Cooper (Notre Dame), Kylie Gilliard (Northampton), Abby Beam (Blue Mountain) and Marina Falzone (Nazareth).
