Best, 39, of Mount Carmel, driving a 2011 BMW 740i, turned left from Darkwater Road to go north on 61.

• A hit-and-run crash was reported at 10:28 p.m. on Aug. 5 along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado truck was parked on the left side of the on-ramp to the interstate. The vehicle had run out of fuel, and the driver had walked to fill a gas can.
