A Monroe County driver is facing charges following an incident that occurred on July 5 at 8:51 p.m.

State police at Stroudsburg said troopers attempted to stop a 2021 Honda CRV along Route 611 near Lower Switwater Road in Pocono Township, for speeding.

The driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The driver was subsequently arrested.

He was identified as Yavgeniy Zhuravlev, 50, of Tobyhanna.

He has been charged with driving under the influence and fleeing and eluding police.
