Parryville approves Lower Main project

The Parryville council held a special meeting Saturday morning to accept a bid for the Lower Main Road project and apply for upcoming grants.

Borough members in attendance included President Cathy Hawk, Donald Smith and Monica Kunkle.

The borough had only received one bid for the road project from Bruce George Paving and Excavating, with the total bid package totaling at $46,304.70. This bid included the installation of driving surface aggregate along Lower Main Street.

With there only being one bid, Smith made a motion to approve it. Kunkle seconded the motion and it passed.

Smith made a motion to reapply for the Local Share Account grant for the fire company/borough building which is due in the fall. Kunkle seconded the motion and it passed.

Smith also made a motion to apply for the Department of Community and Economic Development grant, which is due in the spring, for the fire company/borough building. Kunkle seconded the motion and it passed.

The next borough council meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Aug. 16 at the fire company.
