Nesquehoning continues preparations for community yard sale

The Nesquehoning Historical Society and Museum will participate in the Nesquehoning Community Yard Sale and Vendor Event to be held Aug. 7 and 8.

As part of their participation, the NHS will be selling raffle tickets outside of the museum on both days. In addition, the museum will be open to the public for viewing exhibits and collection of artifacts. The museum will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 8.

The NHS will be selling two types of raffle tickets at this event:

• One will be for a set of Apple AirPods with charging case. These tickets will be selling for $2 a ticket or 3 for $5. The drawing for the AirPods will be on Aug. 8.

• The second raffle will be for your choice of $500 in oil, coal or cash. Tickets for this drawing are $5 and will be drawn on Nov. 11.

The historical society is located at 157 W. Railroad St.

Yard sale

The first community yard sale will be hosted by the Nesquehoning Recreation Commission Aug. 7 and 8 throughout town. The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 8.

Maps are currently being created for anyone hosting a yard sale. You do not need to be on the map to participate, but if you would like to be included on the map of yard sales taking place, contact Samantha Zlock at 570-926-1117.

Vendors are also being accepted and will be able to set up at the recreation center the days of the event. Contact Zlock for a vendor spot.
