Chestnuthill Twp. supervisors voice concern about waivers

Chestnuthill Supervisors had a lengthy discussion last week about waivers for minor subdivisions and land development plans.

During a discussion with surveyor Jonathon Shupp, who presented plans for three ongoing minor subdivisions and lot line adjustment, Gould expressed some concern about the number of waivers received on new plans.

“I don’t disapprove of waivers, but in some cases, it could come back someday to bite us in the butt,” he said.

Gould was concerned about a plan with three lots and a privately shared road. Although it worked, his concern was that someday if the property changes ownership down the road, it could cause problems if all the property owners did not get along for some reason.

The outcome of the discussion was that the planning board and the supervisors would sit down this winter and have a work session to discuss waivers and how they should be done to protect the township.
