Tamaqua’s 8-year-old All Star team recently defeated Valley East 14-1 to capture the championship of the Tri-County Little League Tournament. Tamaqua collected 23 hits in the title game, including three apiece by Gavin Lutz and Grayson Smith. Aiden Barrett and Brady Bartczak combined on the mound to silence the Valley East bats with Barrett striking out six and earning the victory. Tamaqua went undefeated in the tournament, collecting at least 13 hits in each of its four games.
